Durand Deanery Fall Assembly Special Topic: The Bridge to Hope Naomi Cummings, the special speaker for the evening writes: I am the Director of The Bridge to Hope, which has been serving victims of domestic abuse, sexual assault, and human trafficking since 1982. We serve both Dunn and Pepin Counties, but our doors are open to anyone who seeks our help. Our services are free of charge, totally confidential, and open to all regardless of gender, age, religion, or ethnicity. Our mission is “To provide support and healing to individuals and their families while engaging with the community to recognize and prevent abuse.” Our vision statement is “To provide a bridge to hope that creates a safer, more just and compassionate society.” I have been the Executive Director here for over eleven years, and have a degree in Non-Profit Management. My presentation will include information about the dynamics of abusive relationships, the realities of human trafficking, local and global statistics, our beginnings as an agency, the impact of Covid-19 on our services, and what the listeners can do to help.
